The NAU men’s cross country team competed for its fourth straight NCAA Championship Saturday morning in Terre Haute, Indiana, but fell short. The Jacks finished second to BYU, 109-163 to finish runner-up to the Cougars. The highest finishing Lumberjack was freshman Drew Bosley and he finished 22nd, finishing over 30-seconds behind meet winner Edwin Kurgat of Iowa State. Freshman Abdihamid Nur was 33rd and senior Geordie Beamish was 37th. On the women’s side, NAU wan in its first women’s national meet since 2008. The Jacks finished 14th after coming in seeded 20th. Senior Mikayla Malaspina was the highest finishing Jack at 42nd.
