The NAU basketball teams split against Eastern Washington Saturday. The women’s team outscored the Eagles 43-21 in the second and third quarters but had to hang on to beat Eastern Washington, 63-58 in the Skydome. Khiarica Rasheed led the Jacks with 26 points and 12 rebounds and Jacey Bailey added 16 points in the win. The Jacks will head to Missoula, Montana Thursday to take on the Montana Grizzlies. On the men’s side, the Eagles went on a 16-3 run to start the second half and ran away with the game as Eastern Washington beat NAU, 80-70 to complete the season sweep of the Lumberjacks. Cam Shelton led the Jacks with 20 points, including five-three-pointers, along with dishing out seven assists and Bernie Andre had 17 points and nine rebounds. Mason Peatling led all-scorers with 27 points and 15 rebounds. The Jacks will be home to face the Montana schools in the final homestand of the regular season. Thursday’s game against the Grizzlies tips off at 6 p.m.
