NAU Women Beat Weber State, Men Fall In Ogden In Thursday Night Hoops

The NAU Lumberjacks men’s and women’s basketball teams were back in action Thursday, opening their Big Sky Conference seasons against Weber State. The men were in Ogden to battle the unbeaten Wildcats. Both team’s struggled to score in the first half, but Weber State went on a run to close out a win against the Jacks, 67-44. Nik Mains led NAU with seven points and eight rebounds and Carson Towt had six points and seven rebounds in the loss. Jalen Cone scored four points but grabbed ten rebounds as NAU shot 33-percent for the game, while Weber State shot 35-percent from the field. The Jacks head to Poctello, Idaho to take on the Idaho State Bengals Saturday night. Pregame is at 5:30, tipoff is at 6:00 on KAFF Country 93.5/AM 930 in Flagstaff and Fun Oldies 97.9 in Prescott. On the women’s side, Khiarica Rasheed led NAU with 17 points as the Lumberjacks beat the Wildcats, 83-79, at the Rolle Activity Center. Miki’ala Mio added 13 points and Emily Rodabaugh chipped in with 12 points in the win. NAU will host the Idaho State Bengals Saturday afternoon at the Rolle. Tip off is set for 2 p.m.
