The NAU men’s and women’s track and field teams won their tenth and fourth straight respective conference championships. The NAU men has won 24 Big Sky titles and the women have now won 15. On Saturday, NAU earned eleven gold medals and 19 podium performances. The men won the title with 170 points and the women won the meet with 182 points, which is 110 points higher than second place. Three Lumberjacks were named co-Most Valuable Athletes in the meet. Nico Young won the 3,000-meters and set a new championship record. The other two were Alyssa Colbert and David Dunlap, who won the women’s and men’s 60 and 200 meter dashes. NAU will get ready for the NCAA Indoor Championships starting March 11th in Birmingham, Alabama.
