NAU Splits With Portland State In Basketball Saturday

The NAU men’s and women’s basketball teams split with Portland State on Saturday. On the men’s side, NAU trailed for most of the game until taking its first lead with 3:13 to go and hung on to beat the Vikings, 84-82, in the Skydome. Luke Avdalovic led the Jacks with 25 points and seven three-pointers. Bernie Andre added 20 points and 15 rebounds in the win. The win is the Jacks third straight win. They will be back in action in the Skydome Monday night against Sacramento State. Tipoff is at 6 p.m. On the women’s side, NAU’s Khiarica Rasheed scored 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds and Jacey Bailey added 16 points and 12 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough as they fell to Portland State on the road, 66-54. The loss is the Lumberjacks first in six games. They will head to Sacramento to take on Sacramento State Monday night.
