There will be no tuition increases for the majority of students at Northern Arizona University for the second straight year. The NAU 2021-22 tuition proposal features no increase for undergraduate students, while retaining the four-year Pledge tuition guarantee for undergraduates on the Flagstaff campus. Graduate students will see a proposed five-percent increase. NAU also proposes no mandatory fee increases for the next academic year. Staying on campus could be a little more expensive in the fall. NAU is proposing a four-point-four-five percent increase in residence hall rates, which school officials say reflects the changes that include simplifying the rent rate structure from 17 to five rates, reducing unit capacity to two and rolling the costs of laundry into rent. The school is also proposing a two-percent increase in the next academic year’s meal plan, which reflects the rise of the minimum wage in Flagstaff. NAU is holding an interactive tuition hearing April 6th from 3-to-5 p.m. and will be streamed live on the Arizona Board of Regents website.
