NAU Police Looking For A Suspect In Connection With A Sexual Assault On Campus

Northern Arizona University Police are looking for a suspect in connection with a reported sexual assault on campus Friday. Police say according to the victim, they met the suspect unknown to them at a downtown Flagstaff bar Thursday night. The suspect offered to give the victim a ride back to their dorm room, in which the victim said yes. Once back at the residence hall, the victim allowed the suspect into their room. While in the room, some consensual sexual activity took place. However, the victim quickly realized they didn’t want to progress and told the suspect to stop several times. Each time the suspect would pause, but then continue. The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-30s with unkept black hair, black patchy beard, with tattoos on his chest and back and smelled like cigarette smoke. He was said to have been traveling through the city. He was wearing a white or gray “Kid Rock” hat, black leather jacket, blue jeans and cowboy boots. The man’s name is believed to be “Nick.” The suspect’s vehicle is described as a red Jeep, believe to have a New Mexico plate. The vehicle also had a medium-sized black dog inside. If anyone has information on the case call NAU Police at (928) 523-3611 or call Coconino County Silent Witness at (928) 774-6111.
