Northern Arizona University is planning for students to return to the Mountain Campus in the fall as the COVID-19 pandemic continues. Dr. Rita Cheng released a statement Thursday saying “there are many factors that need to be taken into consideration, with the overall objective of mitigating future risks while reviving our local, state, and national economy, and getting people safely back to the daily activities that define our university and community.” She added they will consult with state and federal leaders, as well as health officials, to make sure it’s safe to return to in-classroom study. NAU has not announced when classes will start up in the fall. The two other state universities, Arizona State and Arizona, announced Thursday they will begin its fall semesters on August 20th.
