The NAU Lumberjacks have been picked to finish in the middle of the Big Sky Conference this season, according to preseason coaches and media polls released Monday. The Jacks had 88 points in the coaches poll, and 302 points in the media poll to place sixth in both polls. Eastern Washington was picked as the consensus top-team in the conference. They garnered ten of the 13 first place votes in the coaches poll and 25 of the 43 first place votes in the media poll. UC-Davis was second and Weber State was third in both polls. Two Lumberjack defenders were named to the Preseason All-Conference team. Defensive tackle Jalen Goss and defensive back Kahil Dorsey were the only two Lumberjacks named to the team. NAU opens their season, at home, Thursday, August 29th against Missouri State in the Skydome.
