The three-time defending national championship NAU men’s cross country team dominated the field in winning the Nuttycombe Invitation in Madison, Wisconsin Friday. The Lumberjacks had five runners finish in the top-25 in the event, three in the top ten to win with 59 points. NAU’s finish was 76 points better than second-place Stanford. Junior Luis Grijalva was NAU’s top finisher in fifth-place. Senior Geordie Beamish and freshman Abdihamid Nur finished eighth and ninth respectively. On the women’s side, NAU finished the women’s race in six place. Next up for NAU is the Big Sky Championships in Greeley, Colorado Saturday, November 2nd.
