The NAU men’s and women’s basketball teams had a tough night, both falling to Montana Thursday. The women trailed the Grizzlies by five at half time then a rough third quarter put them in a hole. The Jacks rallied, but couldn’t get over the top as Montana won 83-74. Emily Rodabaugh had 18 points and a perfect 6-of-6 from three point range to lead the Jacks. J.J. Nakai and Jacey Bailey added 13 apiece for NAU, which lost its fourth straight game. They will try and snap the losing streak Saturday when they battle the Grizz again. Tip off is at 10 a.m. Montana got out to a 17-0 start and led NAU 41-19 at halftime. However, the Jacks rallied and got it to single digits in the second half, but ran out of gas as they fell to the Grizzlies 67-56 on the road. Cameron Shelton led the Jacks with 19 points and Isaiah Lewis had a career-high 15 points the loss. They will take on Montana again Saturday at 11 a.m., pregame is at 10:30 on KAFF Country 93.5/AM 930 in Flagstaff and Fun Oldies 97.9 in Prescott.
