The NAU men’s basketball beat Idaho State on the road Thursday, while the women fell to the Bengals in the Skydome. Cameron Satterwhite hit a jumper with 54-seconds to play in overtime as the Lumberjacks held on to beat Idaho State 88-87 in Pocatello. Cameron Shelton sent it to overtime with a layup with less than a second left in regulation. He led the Jacks with 24 points and Bernie Andre added 20 in the win. NAU improves to 13-8 overall and 7-5 in the Big Sky Conference. The men will head to Ogden, Utah Saturday to battle the Weber State Wildcats. Tip time is at 7 p.m.
The women returned home from a four game road trip having won three of the four games. The Jacks had a double digit lead heading into the fourth quarter, but couldn’t hang on as they fell to Idaho State, 79-76, in the Skydome. Lauren Orndoff led the Jacks with 21 points and Khiarica Rasheed added 16 in the loss. NAU was outscored in the fourth quarter, 26-11, by the Bengals. The Jacks fall to 8-4 in the Big Sky and will try to rebound Saturday afternoon against Weber State. Tip time will be at 2 p.m. in the Skydome.
