The NAU men’s basketball team scrapped and clawed, but beat the Idaho State Bengals Saturday night, 73-70. Jalen Cone led the Lumberjacks with 24 points, including five three pointers. Mason Stark made his NAU debut in the starting lineup and added 17 points and Nik Mains chipped in with 12 in the win. NAU shot 44-percent from the field and 48-percent from three in the win. NAU was also 19-of-20 from the free throw line. The Jacks are 1-1 in the Big Sky and will return to their non-conference schedule next Saturday in Vermillion, South Dakota against the South Dakota Coyotes. Tip time is at 2:30 p.m.
