NAU Falls To Eighth-Ranked Sacramento State In Heartbreak Fashion Saturday

Sacramento State recovered an onside kick late in the game, then scored a touchdown with 23-seconds left as the Hornets rallied to beat NAU, 38-34 Saturday in the Skydome. The Hornets got out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter. NAU then outscored Sacramento State 34-10 until the Hornets scored a late touchdown for the victory. NAU senior running back Joe Logan had a career day for NAU. The senior had 24 carries for a career-high 210 yards and three touchdowns. He is the first Lumberjack running back to rush for over 200 yards since Zach Bauman did it against Idaho State in 2013. The Jacks will hit the road for the final time this season next Saturday as the travel to Cedar City, Utah to take on the Southern Utah Thunderbirds in the annual Grand Canyon Trophy game. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
