NAU Falls To Eastern Washington On The Road Saturday

The NAU Lumberjacks scored first, but couldn’t contain the Eastern Washington offense as the Lumberjacks fell to the Eagles 66-38 in Cheney, Washington. The Eagles had 460 yards of total offense in the first half and didn’t look back. The Eagles finished with over 700 yards of total offense for the game. Eastern Washington quarterback Eric Barriere had over 468 all-purpose yards, throwing for over 300 yards and rushing for over 100. NAU quarterback Case Cookus was 30-46 for 356 yards and two touchdowns. Cookus’ second touchdown pass to Brandon Porter put him at 100 career touchdowns. He is the first NAU quarterback to throw for 100 touchdowns in a career. Joe Logan had a good game running the ball for NAU. Logan had 23 carries for 123 yards and three touchdowns in the loss. Both teams combined for over 12-hundred yards of total offense in the game. NAU returns home to take on the Sacramento State Hornets next Saturday. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. in the Skydome.
