NAU Enrollment Tops 30,000 Statewide As Classes Start

Statewide enrollment at Northern Arizona University has topped 30-thousand students as classes begin Monday. NAU officials say as of last week, there were 30,377 students enrolled at NAU campuses. The freshmen class is over 53-hundred students and there are over 26-hundred transfer students. Officials also say graduate student enrollment has increased by six-percent, with the highest number of grad student increases in the College of Engineering, Informatics and Applied Sciences, Online, Statewide and Education Innovation and the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. College of Arts and Letters and the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences have the biggest increases among undergrads. Hispanic enrollment is up and now makes up more than 24-percent of NAU’s statewide enrollment. Also, Native American enrollment is up nearly three-percent. Arizona students make up 69-percent of the NAU student community.
