The NAU women’s basketball team beat the Stetson Hatters, 51-48, Sunday to win third place in the Women’s Basketball Invitational Tournament in Frankfort, Kentucky. Freshman Olivia Moran came off the bench to lead the Lumberjacks with 13 points, seven of which came in the fourth quarter. Khiarica Rasheed picked up her third double-double of the tournament with 12 points and ten rebounds. Junior Regan Schenck scored just one point, but grabbed 15 rebounds in the win. NAU beat Florida International Friday, lost to Portland Saturday and beat Setson Sunday to go 2-1 in the tournament. It was just the second post-season tournament the NAU women’s program has ever played in and the Jacks picked up their first two post-season wins in program history in this tournament. The Jacks also finished above .500 for consecutive seasons for the first time since the 2005-06 and 2006-07 seasons.
