The NAU men’s basketball team used strong defense and a strong three-point game to beat the Embry-Riddle Eagles in an exhibition game Monday, 109-75, at Rolle Activity Center. Senior Chris Bowling led the Jacks with 16 points on 5-of-9 shooting from three-point range. Cameron Shelton added 14 points and Luke Avdolovic chipped in with 13 in the win. The Jacks shot 58-percent from the floor and 64-percent from three point range. Nick Johnson And Conner Verdugo led the Eagles with 21 points. Embry Riddle starts their season Wednesday at home against Park University Gilbert. NAU opens up its regular season next Wednesday on the road in Tucson, when they take on the 16th-ranked Arizona Wildcats.
