NAU Basketball Splits With Montana State Saturday

The NAU men’s and women’s basketball teams split with the Montana State Bobcats Saturday. the women had a battle with the Bobcats, but they hit their shots down the stretch to pull out an 85-80 win. Reagan Schenck flirted with a triple-double as she led the Jacks with 16 points, ten rebounds and seven assists in the win. Freshmen Taylor Feldmen and Sophie Glancey each added 15 points for NAU. The Jacks are 3-1 in the Big Sky and return home next week to take on Portland State and Sacramento State. They will take on the Vikings Thursday night in the Skydome. Tip time is at 6 p.m. In the men’s game, Montana State got out to a 17-0 run over a 7:44 period early in the game and really didn’t look back as they beat NAU in the Skydome, 69-54. The Jacks got out on a 7-1 run in the second half, but Montana State went on a 9-0 run while NAU went 1-of-11 shooting late in the game to seal the win. NAU had no field goals in the final 9:22 of the game. Xavier Fuller led the Jacks with 23 points and Jalen Cone added 12 in the loss. The Jacks will hit the road to take on the Portland State Vikings Thursday night. Tip time is at 8 p.m.
