It took a while, but the Museum Fire is now 100-percent contained. The Coconino National Forest made it official on Monday. Officials say the fire is now deemed in “patrol status” with one engine assigned to the area. The fire started on July 21st and burned 1,961 acres and there was one minor injury and no structures lost. Crews are in the fire zone to assess how to work on regrowing the area and how bad flooding could be if a lot of rain hit the fire scar in a short time. At one time, over 700 firefighters fought the Museum Fire. The fire is considered to be human caused, but the investigation on how the fire started is still ongoing.
