One person was killed after a motorcycle collided with a garbage truck in Cordes Lakes Thursday. Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the area of Antelope Road and Thunderbird Trail at around 11:45 a.m. A caller told dispatch the motorcycle lost control and hit the truck head on. The driver of the truck told deputies he was west on Antelope Road and saw the motorcycle coming right toward him and the bike lost control before hitting the truck. The rider has been identified as 34-year-old Troy Redmond of Cordes Lakes. He was treated at the scene and was taken to a local hospital where he passed away from his injuries. Redmond was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Authorities say speed may have played a factor in the accident.
