Fire crews have stopped forward progress on the Spur Fire, which started in the town of Bagdad yesterday afternoon. The fire has burned 150 acres and is 50-percent contained. Officials say extreme fire conditions and dry brush led to the quick spread of the blaze. The wildfire caused most of the town to evacuate the area, however the evacuations have been lifted. Yavapai County Sheriff’s officials say between 25-and-30 homes were lost and there was damage to utility infrastructure. Authorities say the fire was started by a road construction crew.
