Most Northern Arizona Cities And Towns Deciding Against A Mask Wearing Ordinance

As Flagstaff implements a mandatory mask wearing ordinance, other cities in Northern Arizona are taking a pass. Prescott, Prescott Valley and Chino Valley have all said they are not implementing a mask ordinance, along with Yavapai County officials. Yavapai County has seen very few cases and an over 97-percent negative testing percentage. Williams will also not implement a mandatory mask ordinance. Cottonwood will join Flagstaff to require face coverings. The Cottonwood Town Council voted 4-3 against issuing an emergency proclamation Friday, however Mayor Tim Elinski issued an executive order to implement the proclamation anyway, soon after the vote. Sedona’s town council will vote on a mandatory face covering proclamation on Tuesday. Governor Ducey gave cities a choice on implementing a mask wearing ordinance or not earlier this week as the state battles the COVID-19 pandemic.
