Many kids in Flagstaff will be heading back to school Thursday to start a new school year. However, kids at Killip Elementary School and Leupp School have been back to school for three weeks. The Flagstaff Unified School District has been working during the summer to improve communications with parents. Officials took feedback from families about how to communicate in ways that are more accessible. They say one of the most requested changes was to receive text messages from their children’s school in terms of updates throughout the year. Officials say parents need to log into their “ParentVue” account and make sure the information is updated, that way you will receive those text messages this year. If you don’t have an account, log onto FUSD1.org to register. Remember if you travel through school zones for your daily commute, slow down and watch for kids crossing the street.
