A Minnesota man died Tuesday morning in a skiing accident at Arizona Snowbowl. Coconino County Sheriff’s officials say the accident happened at around 9:46 a.m. on the Phoenix run. The victim has been identified as 61-year-old Michael Amiot. Investigators say the man sustained serious head trauma and wasn’t wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Ski Patrol took Amiot to the Agassiz Lodge, where they attempted life saving measures on him for about 30 minutes. Medical officials pronounced him dead on the scene. His body has been taken to the Coconino County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of death. The incident remains under investigation.
