The City of Flagstaff is working with MetroPlan to implement a new transportation plan called “Stride Forward.” This plan will help with transportation investments for the next 20 years. Transportation is major to most Flagstaff residents and visitors. Planning is important and keeps the bus system moving, builds the roads, and clears the trails. “Stride Forward” will help with this future planning and allows residents to be a part of it. Previous plans in Flagstaff helped create and launch the Mountain Line transit system, the Fourth Street railroad overpass, and the expansion of the Flagstaff Urban Trail System. With new challenges like social equity, climate change, and affordable housing heading to the community, MetroPlan will use the resident’s input to better shape “Stride Forward.” “Stride Forward” is scheduled to be complete by October of 2022.
