The Flagstaff Ranger District has begun work on meadow restoration, fuels reductions and hazardous tree removal projects in Lockett Meadow. The project is to restore the area by removing trees that have encroached into the formerly open meadow. Trees will also be thinned and removed from the adjacent aspen stand and within or surrounding the campground in Lockett Meadow. The work is being funded in part by the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. Crews will be working Tuesday through Thursday for the next two weeks until October 3rd.
