The man who sent LD7 State Senator Wendy Rogers a death threat on the Fourth of July last year, was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison in a Navajo County courtroom Tuesday. Donald Glenn Brown, a former teacher for the Tucson Unified School District, pleaded guilty in April to threatening Rogers’ life during a visit she made to “The Trump Store” in Show Low. She was in town for Show Low’s Independence Day Parade. The store, which sells merchandise for former President Donald Trump, received an email from Brown threatening to “walk in your … joke of a store, and start shooting.” No weapons were found in Brown’s apartment in Tucson or in his mother’s home near Show Low. Rogers said in a statement, “by asserting the two-and-a-half year prison sentence on Donald Brown, who threatened my life, Navajo County Superior Court Judge Joseph Clark ruled in favor of my constituents, who elected me to fight for them.” Brown says he knows that he made a mistake and understands that his messages were deeply offensive, according to a report given to the court prior to his sentencing.
