A man wanted in connection with the stabbing of his mother, has been arrested in Ash Fork. The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office says 47-year-old Charles Gregory Jones was arrested Saturday afternoon in a remote area off Crookton Road and Interstate-40, west of Ash Fork. Jones was wanted in the attack his 69-year-old mother Thursday night. Deputies were dispatched to the home on Rocky Hill Road at around 10:45 p.m. They found the woman in the house with numerous stab wounds all over her body and possible broken bones. She was airlifted to Flagstaff Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. When deputies arrived at the home, Jones had taken his mother’s vehicle and left the scene. Authorities say Jones violated a protection order, that was placed against him by his mother. Search teams used air and ground searches to find Jones, who was with his mother’s vehicle, which was partially hidden. Jones was armed with a handgun and knife and was taken into custody without incident.
