The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a suspect in connection with an attempted homicide on August 23rd in Cordes Lakes. Deputies arrested 33-year-old James Patton last Friday in Cordes Lakes. Patton was wanted for stabbing 45-year-old Kenneth Wallace in the neck at around 4 a.m. Wallace was airlifted to a Phoenix area hospital where he is in an induced coma. Wallace’s family told investigators he was in a disagreement about money with a family acquaintance. Patton was found in an area known as “The Outback” near the Agua Fria River. He surrendered to a deputy who was sitting in a police vehicle near the area. Patton told the deputy he knew the helicopter was going to find him anyway. He remains in the Yavapai County Jail on $50-thousand bond.
