Man Wanted In Connection With A Sexual Assault In Kachina Village Is Arrested

A man wanted in connection with a sexual assault in Kachina Village has been arrested. Coconino County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 18-year-old Jason Gonnie early Saturday morning in Flagstaff. Officials say he was taken into custody by deputies and Flagstaff Police, without incident, at around 4:30 a.m. at Fourth Street and East Route 66. Officials had been looking for Gonnie since last Thursday afternoon after he left a home after a reported sexual assault in Kachina Village in the area of Chof Trail. Gonnie contacted the victim Wednesday night and remained at the house until Thursday, when he pulled out a weapon and refused to allow the victim and two kids leave. It was then when Gonnie reportedly sexually assaulted the victim. The victim and the kids fled the home to another home nearby where they called police. He has been booked on kidnapping, sexual assault, three counts of endangerment, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, second degree burglary, along with a drug possession charge and a probation warrant. He is being held on $150-thousand dollars bond.
