A man, wanted on several charges from an incident in December in Yarnell, has been taken into custody by U.S. Marshals in Wibaux, Montana. Authorities were looking for 47-year-old Neil Allan McCarthy. On December 28th, just after 11 a.m., McCarthy assaulted an adult family member in the parking lot of a restaurant in Yarnell. During the altercation, McCarthy struck the victim in the face and hit his head against a car causing injury to the victim. McCarthy fled the scene. In addition, McCarthy is a Level 2 sex offender stemming from a 2000 conviction out of Navajo County for sexual conduct with a minor, in which the victim was an adolescent female known to the suspect. McCarthy was taken into custody last Thursday and was booked into the Custer County Jail and is awaiting extradition back to Yavapai County.
