Man Killed In An Officer-Involved Shooting In Chino Valley Friday

A man is dead after an officer-involved shooting Friday morning in Chino Valley. Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a home in the 16-thousand block of Vaquero Drive at around 11 a.m. on a report of a suicidal man in his 50s. Deputies found the 51-year-old Danny Mihalik from Chino Valley, armed with a handgun behind the home. Shots were fired by the man and one of the deputies. The shot fired by the man appeared self-inflicted and he was pronounced dead at the scene. It’s unknown if the deputy’s shot hit the man. The incident is under investigation.
