A man is safe after nearby campers saved him after his motorhome caught fire last week near Cottonwood. Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Sheeps Crossing Day Use campground, southeast of Cottonwood Verde Villages, last Thursday at around 6:30 p.m. When they arrived they learned the RV fire was mostly put out by good Samaritans from the Thousand Trails RV Park who used fire extinguishers and garden water hoses. The owner of the RV believed the fire started in the engine area and quickly engulfed the inside of the RV. Exact cause of the fire is not yet known. The driver was not injured and there was no damage to areas around the RV.
