A man has been found guilty of fatally hitting a person while driving fast in Cottonwood back in 2018. Police say an officer was patrolling State Route 260 near Western Road and noticed a vehicle was driving over 100 miles per hour in a 55 mile an hour zone. The vehicle, driven by 21-year-old Jesse Michael Etienne, also ran a red light at the intersection of Western Road where he struck and killed a pedestrian. Etienne lost control of the vehicle and rolled it several times. Etienne was booked at the time on charges related to the accident, along with drug possession. He was found guilty of second degree murder and faces a maximum of 25 years in prison.
