Man Arrested In Prescott Valley For Prescription Fraud

A man was arrested over the weekend in connection with prescription fraud at a Prescott Valley Safeway. Police received a report from the pharmacist Saturday that a man had turned in a fraudulent prescription for a “prescription-only” narcotic cough syrup. The Safeway pharmacist at the store in the 77-hundred block of East State Route 69 reported he had just been alerted to a similar attempt by the pharmacist at Walgreens. The suspect was notified his prescription was ready at Walgreens. When Rick Dion Johnson Junior arrived to pick it up, he was arrested by police. Johnson was also identified as attempting to pass a forged prescription at the CVS Pharmacy in Prescott Valley, but was denied. He was booked on charges of fraudulent schemes, falsely made written instrument, taking identity of a person or entity, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond has been set at $20-thousand dollars.
