A man was arrested in connection with a hit-and-run accident Sunday in Prescott Valley that injured a ten-year-old boy. Prescott Valley Police were called to the intersection of State Route 69 and Glassford Hill Road at around 3 p.m. Police says the boy was crossing the road on his bicycle when a red mid-sized vehicle, was making a right handed turn on a red light and struck the boy. The driver then fled the scene at a high rate of speed. The boy’s father was in the area and was able to render first aid to his son. The boy was subsequently transported to Yavapai Regional Medical Center East for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. He has since been released from the hospital. A short time later the driver, who is from Washington State, contacted the police and admitted his involvement. He was subsequently taken into custody and booked into Yavapai County Jail for felony hit and run, criminal damage and aggravated assault.
