Major Winter Storm To Deliver Inches Of Rain And Feet Of Snow To Northern Arizona This Weekend

Two winter storms, combined with the super moist “atmospheric river,” will bring inches of rain and possible up to 20 inches of snow to Northern Arizona starting this weekend. The first storm is expected to move in Saturday night and exit Monday morning. Then the second storm will be on its heels and restart snowfall Monday afternoon and exit Tuesday. Forecasters are calling for heavy mountain snow, an abundance of rain in the lower elevations and a good chance of river flooding, high winds and possibly many closed roads. Forecasters are calling for up to 20 inches of snow above 6,000-feet Saturday evening through Tuesday. The most intense period of snow is expected to be Sunday morning. If you have travel plans this weekend and into next week, you may want to adjust them so you won’t be caught in what looks to be the strongest winter storm of the season thus far.
