Magician and illusionist David Blaine successfully soared over Page and Lake Powell Wednesday morning while hanging onto 52 helium balloons. Blaine ascended to nearly 25-thousand feet before letting the balloons go and parachuted back to the ground. He needed oxygen after passing 20-thousand feet. Blaine’s latest event was to recreate the 1956 French film “The Red Balloon,” in which a young boy flies over Paris with a cluster of balloons. Blaine’s flight was streamed live on his YouTube channel.
