Lowell Observatory has a special day planned Saturday to mark the 50th Anniversary of the Moon Landing. The observatory played a key role in the moon missions, including moon maping and astronaut training. Former Apollo astronaut Neil Armstrong narrated a video that will be shown at the observatory. He was in Flagstaff back in 2012 to dedicate a telescope. It was his last public appearance. Following the video, another video will be shown of Armstrong setting foot on the moon at the exact moment he did it 50 years ago. Lowell Observatory has a series of events planned to honor the historic occasion this weekend. For more information, log onto Lowell.edu.
