Several residents of Yavapai County heard a loud boom Sunday morning. Sheriff’s official say they started receiving reports at around 7:20 a.m. from across the county. Authorities say a meteor streaking through the atmosphere, may have caused the boom that people heard. Officials say the FAA didn’t have any information and Luke Air Force Base didn’t have aircraft in the area at that time. People did report seeing something streaking across the sky about the same time as the boom. So far, the Sheriff’s Office is leaning to the meteor as the cause of the boom. There has been no evidence of the meteor hitting the Earth so far.
