The Flagstaff City Council heard an update on the Lone Tree Overpass Project at their meeting Tuesday. The Council is beginning to look into an intersection design that would allow five lanes on each leg and additional protection for cyclists and pedestrians at the intersection of Butler Avenue and Lone Tree Road. The council also analyzed the possibility of installing a bridge over Butler Avenue for cyclists and pedestrians oriented north and south. The intersection design would follow the City’s climate action goals with a goal to efficiently move vehicular travel. Council members agreed in proceeding with the overall project design, while staff is analyzing further details on the project. For more information on the project, head to LoneTreeOverpass.org.
