A Representative in the state legislature, from the Navajo Nation, has resigned to become Deputy Assistant Secretary for Tribal Affairs. District Seven Representative Arlando Teller from Chinle submitted his resignation last week to Speaker of the House Rusty Bowers. Teller’s last day at the State Capitol was Sunday. He said in the letter: “I’m honored and humbled to have been selected by President Biden to work for his administration.” Teller added, “It has been a privilege to represent my constituents in District 7.” He has served at the State Capitol since 2019 and was elected to a new term last November with Myron Tsosie in the district. The Apache County Board of Supervisors will select his successor.
