Officers from the Prescott Valley, Prescott and Chino Valley police department, along with the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, conducted a speed enforcement detail on State Route 89A and Fain Road on Tuesday. The area was selected due to numerous complaints of speeding and recent increase in traffic accidents. During the four hour detail, there were 62 traffic stops. Officers issued 52 speeding citations, three criminal speed citations and a DUI arrest. A criminal speed citation is issued when speeds exceed the posted speed limit by 21 miles-per-hour or more, or when a driver exceeds 85 miles-per-hour. The highest recorded speed during the four hours was 92 miles per hour.
