Lava River Cave Closed Friday And Saturday For Construction Work

The National Forest Service is closing the Lava River Cave north of Flagstaff this weekend for renovation work. The area, about 15 miles northwest of Flagstaff, will be closed Friday and Saturday to use several pieces of heavy equipment at the location as it continues an improvement construction project. The project includes parking improvements, vault toilet installation, new trail access and the installation of new information kiosks. The cave will re-open on Sunday.
