Las Vegas Man Arrested In Prescott Valley Monday In Connection With Auto Theft

Prescott Valley Police arrested a Las Vegas man early Monday morning for trespassing and is also connected with a theft at a local automotive dealership. Officers responded to the 35-hundred block of North Greg Drive at around 3:42 a.m. and found a man in the garage. It was determined that the man, 28-year-old Caleb Smith, was trespassing in the residence of people he knew. While investigating, officers found a vehicle in the garage with fresh body damage to the front bumper. It was learned the vehicle was stolen over the weekend from Findlay Toyota in Prescott. Police say Smith was seen inside the building at around 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning. Video then showed him get into a 2020 Toyota Corolla, drive through a locked gate and onto northbound Willow Creek Road. After Smith was arrested, he admitted to stealing the car. Smith was booked into the Yavapai County Jail charged with possession of stolen property, third-degree burglary, theft of means of transportation and felony criminal damage.
