Killip Elementary School Has Seen Its Last Students In The Building As Current Students Will Use Flagstaff Middle School The Rest Of The Year

Students at Killip Elementary School have taken their last class in the historic building. Students at Killip will spend the rest of the school year at the old Flagstaff Middle School building. The old school was set to be torn down after the school year as crews continue to build the new Killip Elementary School on the same property. The old building was damaged by recent flood waters that streamed down through the Sunnyside neighborhood, flooding the school. Damage to the school ended up being too expensive to repair. Students are on remote learning until next Tuesday while school and district officials get Flagstaff Middle School ready for classes. A Safe Learning Center is open at the Family Resource Center at 4000 North Cummings Street from 8:20 a.m. until 3:10 p.m. during remote learning. Before school care will be offered from 6:45 to 8:20 a.m. and after school care from 3:10 until 6 p.m. at the center, with breakfast and lunch provided for the kids. Grab and Go breakfast, lunch, and dinner is available for pick up for all Killip students from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. outside of Killip Elementary School during remote learning.
