Janecek’s Seven Three-Pointers Led The Eagles, But Flagstaff Fell To Region-Leader Bradshaw Mountain 58-53 Friday

The Flagstaff Eagles were down 19-1 at the end of the first quarter and almost rallied to pull off a huge upset Friday night against Bradshaw Mountain. However the Bears, scored the last seven points to escape Flagstaff with a 58-53 win. After the first quarter the Eagles started chipping away at the Bears lead. In the second quarter, that’s when Senior Ben Janecek caught fire. He scored ten points in the quarter, with three of his seven three-pointers to get the Eagles closer, trailing 30-21 at halftime. The Eagles got another eight points from Janecek to trail by two at the end of three, 44-42. The Eagles had a two point lead, 53-51 with 1:03 to play. However, Bradshaw Mountain went on a 7-0 run to finish the game and get the win. Janecek finished with 24 points and Senior Richard Garcia added nine points for the Eagles, who were without starter Jake Centner, who missed the game with an ankle injury. Mason Hunt led the Bears with 23 points. The Eagles will play Prescott on Monday on the road.
