Sophomore guard Jalen Cone took it upon himself to stop NAU’s losing streak at two as he scored a season-high 36 points and hit five three-pointers to lead the Lumberjacks to a 70-65 win over Sacramento State in the Skydome Monday. Cone was also a season-high 11-of-12 from the free throw line and Carson Towt had six points, eight rebounds and six assists in the win. The Jacks will have a few days off before they end their five-game homestand Saturday afternoon against the Portland State Vikings at 2 p.m. in the Skydome. On the women’s side Regan Schenck led NAU with 14 points as the Jacks beat Eastern Washington 69-54 on the road. They will play at Portland State Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.
