Coconino County Sheriff’s investigators are still trying to determine what triggered a pair of fires in the Doney Park area Monday and Tuesday. Sheriff’s spokesman Jon Paxton says they have interviewed 38-year-old Rachel Rae Bridges, who was considered a “person of interest” in connection with the fires that destroyed at least one structure. Paxton says nothing more will happen until they determine if either fire was purposely set. He says, “there’s speculation embers blew up off the old fire, and that is a possibility, but fire units were on scene most of the night and into the hours of the morning and did not see anything kick up. We’re still trying to figure that out.” Paxton says Bridges is a transient who has often been seen in the area. The fires consumed about three acres total in the area of Pine Canyon and Burris Lane.
